Boarding & Day Care Licence
Anyone offering Dog Day Care or Dog Boarding must be licensed by law. Herts Countryside Dog Walking & Day Care has been awarded the highest rating of 5 stars from Dacorum Borough Council for the new Animal Activity Licence. This was introduced by DEFRA in October 2018 to license people whose work involves providing or arranging boarding or day care for dogs to replace the outdated licence at that time.
We have undergone a rigorous assessment of our premises and procedures for animal welfare and have met and exceeded their conditions to attain the higher star rating.
Our application was assessed under the strict scoring guidelines set out by DEFRA for this purpose, and the highest rating of 5 stars was awarded to us. Our Licence Number is M053576
The RSPCA has expressed the view that the new regulations “have the potential to make a significant improvement in animal welfare and are certainly a big improvement on the old regimes under the new legislation".
A person who carries on a licensable activity without a licence, also commits an offence and is liable to imprisonment for up to 6 months, a fine or both.
Insurance
We are insured by the Protectivity Insurance company for Dog Walking, Dog Day Care and Dog Boarding in our own home. We also have insurance for Loss of Keys and Replacement Locks. We have Public Liability Insurance and Employers Liability Insurance. We are happy to supply a copy of our insurance certificate upon request.
